So this is my "little" surprise. Meet Mathieu! No, I didn't bring him back in my suitcase this summer. In fact, I have never even met him! But soon (hopefully VERY soon) this little boy will be my son. I received my LOA today (27 Aug 2013). That is one of the final pieces of paper that I need to apply for immigration approval to bring him home. Because of my recent move, I will have to do an update to my home study before I can proceed, but I am praying that this doesn't take too long!
Mathieu is from Henan Province in China. He was born in March of 2012. He has a condition which affects his left eye, but a prosthetic should help with that.
Your prayers are coveted and much appreciated as I (or should I say "we") begin this new chapter.
Mom, get your passport ready and clear your calendar :) I am ready to get my son (and get him OUT of pink Lol!)
Blog will eventually follow...which should give you the backstory on this decision. Feel free to ask any questions! For now, this quote pretty much sums up my journey to adoption:

Ashlin!! We are so excited for you and for Mathieu. You were right, what a surprise! But a wonderful one. Adoption is such a beautiful picture of the gospel. As you have partnered with us here in Winchester, we will gladly partner with you in prayer. May the Lord work His will for the familial, physical, and spiritual benefit of this surprisingly short, dark-haired, and very handsome man.
